The way they climb down is so fascinating and how they change directions when climbing face down. You'd think they're just jumping up and down but no they're climbing it with their strong paws and grip.
These cats are almost as good at climbing as the straight-up leopards! And they also have very long tails! Their meows are also around the same pitch as a house cat!
Climbing skill level 1. cloud Leopard = the only big cat can climb head-down the tree all the way 2. Leopard 3. snow Leopard 4. puma = long jump champion 5. Jaguar = diving champion = bite force champion 6. cheetah = sprint champion no skill but strength 1. Tiger 2. Lion
Tigers can absolutely jump extremely high and can climb trees. There is a famous video of a safari guide on the back of an adult elephant and a tiger leaps from the grass 15 feet in front of the elephant and reaches the man on the back of the elephant and swipes him in one leap, the video is on youtube just search for it. There is another video of a Tiger that got hit by a tranquilizer gun from a helicopter and the tiger immediately climbs up a very tall tree to try and attack the low flying helicopter. I would say Tigers are the most capable and athletic of all big cats.
That why in my languages malay and Indonesian(Malaysia, Brunei, Indonesia and Cocos Island) we called this cat "harimau dahan" or "Macan dahan", dahan mean =branch or tree branch, Macon mean big cat, while cat mean kucing for small cat, like "Asiatic leopard-cat we called it "kucing batu. because clouded leopard love tree branch and climb tree. dahan also In Filipino mean "branch".
@@clips9294 - I agree margays are far more agile in trees than cloudies, mainly because of their far smaller size. Marbled cats are about the same size as margays & they too have flexible ankles but they have never been filmed in trees (just too secretive). Same thing with Rusty-spotted-cats, they are extremely small, they just run up & down trees, but again rarely filmed in trees. Nevertheless it's difficult to measure this skill beyond a point. I am certain that an African leopard will be able to catch a margay in a tree (they have been filmed several times catching squirrels and monkeys in trees)
@@clips9294 Marbled cats and clouded leopards are! The fact that a clouded leopard is 6x heavier and still climbs as good is a mircale! Marbled cats spend almost their entire life in the treest. Natives have witnessed them climbing and they are top notch!
That right there is one of the most beautiful animals of this planet, amazing looking indeed.
These guys have become my favourite of all wild cats. I guess I love to climb, so I can relate to them.

Fascinating. Most Leopards are good tree climbers to go up the tree and down.
They are my favourite animal too, just unbelievably beautiful feline
They're are The Most Efficient Climbers of all species of Cats, my fav Animal.

they are much better climbers compared to regular leopards!
So leopards are just the best climbing big cat! The smaller cats can climb better!

If only house cat has the ability to climb down tree like clouded leopard.... No need to call firefighters 😅
Bottom line….if leopard hunting you…..💀
terrible audio....try wearing a microphone on your shirt.
That's an impressive stunningly beautiful animal, even if it is a predator.
